Medicaid Estate Recovery

If your deceased loved one received Medicaid, they are entitled to recover against the estate at death. This is because certain assets such as one’s primary residence are exempt for purposes of Medicaid eligibility. These assets are not, however, exempt for purposes of Medicaid estate recovery.
