Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect

When a stay in a nursing home is unavoidable (and this is the ONLY time you should consider one) there are steps you can take to ensure that your loved one will be well cared for.

Of greatest importance, is your presence.  If you are a “squeaky wheel” and are on the scene discussing the care plan frequently, chances are, that your loved one will receive better care.

We’ve all heard of (and we’ve unfortunately seen) heart-wrenching cases of elderly nursing home residents who were physically, sexually, or financially abused.  Countless others are neglected which can result in physical consequences such as bed sores, incontinence, depression and agitation.

We can assist you in identifying tell-tale signs of inadequate care.  We can also help you lodge a complaint with the Department of Health and if need be, initiate an abuse and/or neglect claim against the facility.
